Italian Girl

She might look like her daddy, but she definitely has some Italian genes in her some where!

Really though, she definitely has less than 1/4 Italian decent because I am only 1/4 Italian and I do not believe that Brian has any Italian in him. Either way though....Sierra definitely likes Mama's baked ziti! I don't make my own sauce either, so I know she will be in for a real treat when she can have Mimi's 100% homemade sauce.

"More Cheese Please"

The kiddo loves to eat! And if she could talk, I am sure she would ask for "more cheese please!" She loves cheese, anything with cheese.

Baby Weimer Gender Revealed!!!

Brian and I are happy to announce 

that Sierra will be welcoming a little baby BOY cousin

in June!!!

Although Sierra won't be able to share any of her cute dresses

we are still completely overjoyed and can't wait to meet

Jacob Michael Weimer!!

We Praise God that the ultrasound also revealed that little Jacob

Mimi & Papa's kitchen is a great place to hang out. Especially if you haven't mastered the art of crawling yet. You can just slide every where and make people think that you are crawling around!

Happy Valentine's Day

We sincerely hope everyone had a great Valentine's day. I had a wonderful day of playing with Sierra and getting school work done. Brian on the other hand had a 12 hour shift. But when he got home, we had a fabulous dinner together, played with Sierra before bedtime, and then watched a movie together before Brian was off to bed again (another 12 hour shift today)!

All in all it was fabulous. Just another day pretty much of being in love and loving on the two most wonderful people in my life. Personally, I don't need a holiday for Hallmark to remind me how blessed we are. We are so very blessed every single day and we try not to take the love and life we have for granted, ever!

Sierra, Brian, and I did make cute little Valentine's for some of our family members and put them in the mail earlier in the week. I am looking forward to future years when she is older and can glue, cut, stamp, etc. I have so many projects I would love to do! Here are some pictures of the Valentine project we did this year...

Getting those little chubby feet to sit still and cooperate was not very easy, but it was still a fun project. Brian helped hold those little feet still and as long as Sierra had goldfish in front of her, she was happy!

Boy? or Girl?

THAT IS THE QUESTION!

In just two days time, it will be revealed to us whether Sierra will be welcoming a boy cousin or a girl cousin into the mix! My sister is 21 weeks pregnant and on Monday she has the BIG ultrasound. Honestly, I have no preference either way. I am just so excited that the Lord has blessed them with this child and am looking forward to having another baby around! We are so excited and waiting in anticipation for the verdict!!! Stay tuned. I will be sure to share the big news, or at least link to her blog when she shares the big news. God Bless!

Good Pillow

Sierra has been taking her baby doll to bed with her lately. Well, the other night when I went in to check on her, this is how I found her. Who knew that a baby doll makes a good pillow?!?! Certainly not I.

Prayer and Thankfulness

My heart has been burdened the past couple days. A beautiful young family from Kansas was laid on my heart the other day. They have a daughter who is 1 month older than Sierra. On January 22nd she went to the doctor for a routine check-up and was diagnosed with cancer throughout her entire little body.  Three short weeks later, on Sunday February 8th, she went home to Jesus.

When I read the news of her passing, my heart crumbled. I don't know these people, but truly we are one body in Christ through the faith that we share. I sat in front of my computer deeply saddened for this young family. I found myself asking the Lord "why?" "Why Lord?" "Why such a small baby?" "Why so quickly?" I was taken aback by my own heart that was crying out to the Lord asking a question that I never even asked when Daniel was sick.  However, I am reminded once again, as Paul tells us...to be with Christ..."is better by far." (Philippians 1:23) I find hope in the assurance that Jesus has come to bridge the gap for us who are so undeserving. Through the acceptance of this gift, we will all be reunited in heaven again. Praise God for that Hope!

I am so thankful for the blessing that I have in Brian and Sierra. I do not take one single day with my precious baby girl and husband for granted. Thank you Lord! Blessed be your name ALONE. So Funny!

Sierra thought me throwing the football in the air was sooo funny. We love this sound and pray there will always be laughter like this in our home!  In fact, I do believe "a home filled with laughter" was in our wedding vows! :)

Fireproof - The Movie

Brian and I watched this movie together on Monday night. It was a wonderful movie and I highly recommend that all couples watch it together! What a wonderful idea for an at-home date night!! :)

Daddy's Girl

Sierra loves her daddy!  She lights up when he walks in the room. She loves to play and laugh with him. It is amazing to catch a glimpse of a father's love for his daughter. I just know as she grows, their relationship will only grow stronger. I praise the Lord daily for Brian and for the father that he has become and continues to be.  Thank you Lord!!!

Here they are playing "hide from the camera" - More of a game that Daddy likes to play, but Sierra usually plays and laughs along. Brian hates the camera and it is SOOOO hard to get a picture of them playing together. See Sierra's feet hanging out from under the blanket? She thought this part of the game was so much fun! 

Sweet Friends

Sierra has many sweet friends, but here is one of her favorite friends, Ian. Ian is one of the kids in my mom's group and ever since Sierra was a baby Ian has been totally enchanted with Sierra. It is so cute to watch and he is constantly wanting to give Sierra hugs and kisses. He is so gentle with her too...he already knows how to treat a lady! :)  Ian is exactly the same age as my nephew Pierce; he was born on Christmas Day in 2006. He is just so precious and we love him and his Mommy, our wonderful friends in Christ, so much.  Just thought I would share some pictures.

A New Toy...

For Daddy....

Brian decided to go to Circuit City last weekend and get Guitar Hero for our new Wii that we got for Christmas.  We are sad and are praying for all the Circuit City employees that are becoming jobless due to the recent bankruptcy, but we are thankful for sale prices!  Brian has had so much fun playing his new Guitar and seems to be getting better and better at it. I, on the other hand, am no musician!!! I LOVE watching Brian play though and I get so excited when he has a big run of notes and Sierra and I clap for him at the end of his songs, it's a family affair! :)

Sierra still thinks it is a new toy for her. Brian did let her help him put the stickers on his new guitar though and she had fun with that.

Maybe some day little girl, Daddy will get you a guitar of your own. Just have to wait and see!

25 Things

I am a Facebook-er; however, due to numerous reasons, I have been working on limiting my time spent on there lately. 

Just recently though, there has been a "Tagging Game" circulating through Facebook. Basically the gist of it goes like this...A person writes a note listing 25 "random" things about themselves. They post the list to their Facebook account and "tag" 25 other people to do the same thing. Well, I was "tagged" about 30 times in the course of 2 weeks.  I kept putting off doing the list; but finally took some time and went ahead and made a list of "25 Things" about myself.  I thought, for those of you that are not on Facebook, I would share my list here. Enjoy!

25 Things about Me:

1. I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He is my LORD and SAVIOR. I am passionate about my faith and instead of this being a “random” fact, it is my hope that this is not random at all. I pray that everyone I know and meet will understand just how important my relationship with Christ is, above all others.

2. I wear flip-flops for about 9 months out of the year and can be seen wearing them during the winter months if the weather is at least 50 outside.

3. When I do wear socks, my socks will usually match my outfit (at least match in color). I once had a boss that got a kick out of that; he would check daily to make sure they were actually (still) matching.

4. I was widowed at the age of 26. It was the hardest thing I have ever endured and with out Jesus, I would not be who I am today. 

5. There are still days when pain and grief of losing my husband overcome me. I believe this will never fully go away until I am in Paradise, seeing Jesus face-to-face.

6. I am a strong believer in the power of prayer and I pray several times a day for many people and things/issues.

7. I met Brian when we were 10 years old (back in 1990). He became my best friend. We used to write notes back in forth in Elementary and Middle school and continued to write letters after I moved to Virginia in 1994 and while he was in the Marine Corp for 5 years. After getting back together in 2006, we realized that both he and I had kept ALL those letters. The letters have been “reunited” and are in a folder (in chronological order) in a safe place. The dates range from 1990 – 2003. After 2003, we switched to email. 

8. I am NOT a naturalist, but I am passionate about things that are natural and God given. For example, breast milk, natural (non-medicated) births, whole grain foods, vitamins and minerals, not taking antibiotics like they are candy, etc.

9. I believe that the Bible and the words contained therein are the inherent word of the Lord. Although, I understand that we live in a fallen world and everyone is a sinner, none of us are perfect, especially ME; I still tend to not agree with people who twist the Lord’s words to fit into their lifestyles or worldly beliefs.

10. I love my husband so very much. It is a passionate sort of love too. Once, in an Adolescent Development class we were all posed the moral question “if you were driving and your brakes didn’t work and someone standing in front of you was going to die, your child to the right and your husband to the left, which way would you turn?” I said I would turn right. I was criticized for saying this and was told that I only selected that answer because Sierra (at the time) was only 2 weeks old. Now, 9 months later, I still hold the same answer. Sorry to any one out there that disagrees…It is Biblical and it is truly how I feel. God gave me my husband first.

11. I was raised in a small, rural town. My best friend growing up was a boy, we used to build forts, ride bikes, and climb trees. I was (and still am, pretty much) a tom-boy.

12. I believe my calling from God is to be a teacher; But my roles as a wife and mother come first, before any job.

13. I am pretty content. I do not want for many things and I am happy with the things I do have. I do not need the latest and greatest toys, electronics, clothes, cars, etc. 

14. I started this list about a week ago and I am just now adding the last 10 items.

15. I love my family and they are all very important to me.

16. Brian and I probably discuss/mention/joke about having more children at least once a week. We are putting our faith in God’s timing though.

17. I drove cross country at the age of 19 with a guy who I could not trust, did not like, and wished he wasn’t in my life. After returning home and leaving him in California, I never looked back and have not seen him since. (Praise God!)

18. I have been tagged in this “tag game” about 30 times. I seriously considered not doing it just for the sake of “being different”; but obviously I succumbed. 

19. I got pregnant, lost 13 pounds, gained 10 pounds, then was less 20 pounds 2 weeks after delivery. Pregnancy was definitely a weight-loss plan for me.

20. I believe I have “witnessed” Christ numerous times in my life; especially during my late husbands last 3 months of life on this earth.

21. There have only been two people in my life that FULLY understand me and still love me for who I am.

22. I think communication is one major key to relationships.

23. I firmly believe that no one can really understand the loss of loving and losing a spouse, unless you have gone through it yourself. Same thing for losing a parent or child, etc.

24. I am very close with my Mom. I don’t know where I would be with out her love and support.

25. I believe that the best job in the world is serving my husband and raising my child. I am so blessed that my husband is willing to live on a (tight) budget so that our daughter can be taken care of by him and I everyday; however, there are several times (a day) when I feel inadequate as a mother and a wife. I am a work in progress.
