Kate & Pierce come to visit!!!

What a wonderful time we had last week with my sister, Katie and my nephew, Pierce. We went to the zoo, the pool, the beach, the mall, and the playground. Kate and I had many wonderful "girlie" chats and we even found some time for crafts! It was a blast. I can't wait to see them again soon. Maybe next time my brother-in-law can come with them too. Here is a slide show that Kate put together of our few days with one another.

Last Morning

Our last morning together, Sierra gets a wake up call (and good morning kisses) from cousin Pierce.
What a great week we had! So many adventures and blessed moments together. I am sad our time together has come and went. I have so many pictures to share. I will create a slide show over the next few days and hopefully post it soon. Now back to a very quiet house....

Out of Blogging...

I might be out of the blogging world for a little bit this week. My sister Katie and my nephew Pierce are coming on Monday to visit us for a few days. To say the least, I am SUPER excited! Being the social girl that I am, I love having people around. I have not found a Mom's group yet, so during the day, I get a little stir-crazy with no one to talk to or hang out with. Not to say that I don't LOVE hanging with just Sierra, but at this age, adult interaction is a bit more appealing to me.

Also, I just love sister time and my nephew is the best kid in the world (sorry all other Mama's out there). I love playing with him and doing fun things. At 18 months old, he is so curious and he loves to learn new things - totally my element, hence the pursuit of a teaching degree! :)

This upcoming week we have plans for the zoo, the beach, the pool, the playground, (probably the shopping mall :)), photo shoots, fun, fun, fun, and above all fellowship! Can you tell I am excited? You can come visit me too and I promise I will be excited for that as well! We love visitors! It stinks living away from family, especially now that we have a kiddo of our own.

Anyway, with my sister here I might not get a chance to blog that much (can you blame me?), but I will be sure to post a slide show of pictures of all our fun after she has left! :)

Also, my cousin Sissy is flying in on Friday morning and staying with us. :) We can't wait to see her too! Yah for lots of family visitors!!!

Kate & Pierce come to visit!!!

We were super blessed last week to have my sister Katie and nephew Pierce come to visit us. I had originally asked Kate if she wanted to come during my spring break to help set up the nursery, get things washed, etc. But then my parents came down the weekend after the shower (to visit and make a delivery of all the shower gifts we could not fit in our car) and my mother graciously helped me get everything together and ready. However, I still wanted Kate and Pierce to come visit and although spring break week didn't work for them, last week did...so to the beach they traveled!

It was so much fun (and tiring). Having toddlers running around and being 9 months pregnant can really tire you out. I am not sure how my mom did it; with Kate and I being 15 months apart, that means that my mother was as pregnant as I am now, with a little one the same age as Pierce, and a 5 year old! I guess it couldn't have been too bad, because she ended up having another one after that; She did wait 4 years later though! :) Thank goodness they come out as babies and not as toddlers, at least God slowly takes us into those running around stages.

Having Pierce around is so much fun! He is talking non-stop now and so interactive! We loved every minute. It was especially funny to watch him spot one of our cats, yell "Kitty!" and then take off running after it. The cats did not think that was very funny and they spent most of the 3 days hiding under the bed upstairs; not really sure what this little person was all about. Also, every time Pierce would laugh or squeal or cry, they would take off up the stairs. It will be very interesting to see how they do when Sierra arrives, life is about to change very drastically for them. I have a feeling the spare room, under the bed, might become their new favorite place.

It was also great to have my sister around, especially with Brian working night shift. We talked girl talk, she gave breastfeeding and newborn advice, we watched American Idol, ate ice cream, went shopping - it was wonderful!

We took Pierce on his first carousel ride (he wasn't really sure what he thought about it) and we went for some walks, fed the ducks, and played on the playground. It was a wonderful time and we are thankful for their visit. We LOVE when people come visit us (hint, hint)! :)

Family Weekend

What a blessing it is to spend time with family! Last weekend (yes, I am a week late) Brian and I headed to Raleigh, NC to visit with my brother for his 24th!!! Birthday! Wow, our little Mikey is growing up so fast! :)

Mike and Blakely live in Raleigh; Kirsten, Keith, Katie, Shaun, and Pierce traveled from Charlottesville; Mom and Dad came from Richmond; Mr & Mrs Hunnings (Blakely's parents) traveled from Blacksburg; and Brian and I traveled from Virginia Beach. We all had a fabulous time hanging out, laughing, eating good food, playing with Pierce, relaxing, and celebrating the wonderful 24 years of life God has blessed Michael with!

Here are a few pictures and videos that we took of the weekend. Basically, how it went on Saturday afternoon was...Pierce went to the park...the paparazzi followed him...you will see what I mean! :)

We had fun sending Pierce down a slide for the first time ever - watch the slide show for the video of that! :)

Also, we took Rhea (Blakely's great dane "puppy") to the dog park, it was our first experience at a dog park; I loved it! Brian, on the other hand, said he saw enough dogs in one day to last him many years! :)

Next weekend, is going to be another great family weekend and lots of people that we love dearly will be in Richmond to celebrate the upcoming birth of our little girl! We are sooo excited and feel so blessed that many people are willing to travel for someone they love dearly and have never even met. :) I assure you that I am not completely naive and I know the good food and good people at the Stank household (especially our sweet little man, Pierce) is a bit of an incentive too! :)

Pierce's Birthday Party & Visiting in Charlottesville

I am Queen of Slide Shows today! :)

As mentioned in an earlier post, Brian and I spent some time last week in Charlottesville visiting with my two sisters, my two brother-in-laws, my grandmother (who is visiting from NY until the 12th), and my nephew. We had a wonderful time with everyone and always love whenever we get the chance to be with my sisters and their families.

Here are some pictures of our visit along with some pictures of Pierces' First Birthday Party which took place on Saturday, January 5th. After his birthday and Christmas, this kid is now a champ at opening gifts! :)

Happy Birthday Pierce!

Not only was Jesus' birthday yesterday, but my precious nephew Pierce Clark Arnold celebrated his first birthday on December 24th! What an exciting time! He has brought so much joy to all of us over the past year. Brian and I thank God each and every day for this precious little angel. I simply can't remember what life was like before this ray of sunshine came into the world. I never thought you could love something so much, so quickly! It is amazing to me!

My Nephew

My nephew Pierce is 7 months old now. I can't believe it! It is amazing to me how much I can love something so small. He hasn't really even muttered any words yet, but still he steals my heart (and everyone elses, for that matter). I imagine that this is similar to the love that Jesus had for us even before we were born, when he hung on the cross for our sins.

I can't even begin to know how it must feel to be a mommy of something so wonderful.....(someday).....For now though, being an Aunt is the greatest gift in the world! Thanks Kate & Shaun!!!

I have created this slideshow for my little nephew....Enjoy....
