"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." James 5:16 (NIV)

For the many of you that have known me for a long while, and knew my late husband Daniel, you understand how important praying for others can be.
While Daniel was battling his cancer, we literally had thousands of people all over the world praying for us, many people that we never met and probably many that I will never meet (on this earth anyway).
Daniel used to always ask me, "Karen, how do I thank everyone?" "How do I make people realize that I am so thankful for their love, support, and prayers?"
I didn't always have the most wise response, but I used to tell him that someday people would need us to pray for them; someday, all those that lifted us up would need us to converse with God on their behalf. As our battle continued, Daniel and I would pray for all those that were praying for us, knowing that God knew what their needs were; and I would tell Daniel, that when the day came that someone needed us to pray specifically for them, he could talk to God at that time and request healing in whatever form it was needed.
I urge each of you now to remember how you once prayed for Daniel and myself and I ask that you intercede for a couple named Nathan and Tricia, and their new baby Gwyneth.
Tricia is battling cystic fibrosis and is in need of a double lung transplant and Gwyneth is a miracle gift from God who is thriving on His healing after being born last week at 24 weeks of age. They both are being treated at Duke Medical Center - a place where me and my family have a lot of history and a place that is so near and dear to my heart. You can check Nathan's blog - http://cfhusband.blogspot.com/ which is dedicated to updating all their "prayer warriors" on their progress and God's healing on both of them.
In reading Nathan's blog for the past week, I am reminded so much of how my Daniel lived his life; Nathan is requesting not what his will is, because obviously his will is total healing - yesterday! But instead, he is seeking the will of our Father in Heaven. Knowing that God is never absent from any trial or circumstance that we endure on this earth. Also Nathan does not want our pity or sadness, because he knows, thanks to the saving grace of Jesus' death on the cross for us, eternal life has already been granted.
I leave you with this, as so many of you prayed for me, it is my responsibility now to share with you the opportunity to pray for another couple who is in need. It was not only Daniel's legacy, but we all know and understand that prayer WORKS!
We pray that Nathan, Tricia, and Gwyneth feel the overwhelming peace of God through our prayers! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
