How we remembered 10 years
What a full and emotional day. The kiddos and I traveled to Spotsylvania to the church plant that Daniel and I helped start many years ago, where now his little brother is one of the campus Pastors. We got to hang out with all Daniel's nieces, his aunt, his cousins, family friends, and his mom and dad. It was wonderful to see all of them, especially on this special day.
We then went and spent some time at his childhood home and the place where his ashes were laid to rest. It's a serene spot on his parents land that he selected before his passing. It's so peaceful. My older girls actually like to see the picture of me and Daniel together on his memorial stone. I think it helps it all make more sense to them.
I had a lovely time reminiscing with my mother-in-law. The way she remembers our love story makes me emotional but it is like sweet honey to my heart. It's hard to articulate it all. But it's been a good day of celebrating life and recalling fond memories.
