Thanks to Great Nana G. for the Pumpkin costume for our little "pumpkin" :)
As most of you know, I am not one that is big on the whole "ghosts, goblins, witches" thing. If my Nana had not send the costume, Sierra probably would not have even "dressed up". As parents, God has given us the HUGE responsibility to teach our child (ultimately, His Child) the difference between worldly things and things that are pleasing to Him. We are here to worship God alone, not idols or worldly things. I posted some information last year in my Halloween post that I think is worth reading again.
As the little children come to your door tonight, please remember to pray for them. Pray for their hearts, their souls, and their minds. We live in a world where there is a lot of sin; but Jesus is the light of this world and He is the only one that can free us from darkness.
Tonight, as we did last year, we will be passing out candy with Bible verses attached and we will be in prayer for all of the little children around the world as they go "trick or treating". We will also be praying for so many of you that will be passing out Church invites, Christian literature, and opening your church doors, parking lots, and fellowship halls, all in the hopes of bringing the Light of Christ to this dark world. We are called to spread the good news of Christ and we will be praying as you do so.
We thank God daily for our little pumpkin and we are blessed by her presence in our lives. We pray that she grows to know the love that God has for her and the debt that Jesus has paid to bring her out of darkness! That one day, she too, will be a shining example of God's amazing love.
Be safe and have a blessed day!
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12 (NIV)
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)

So, I'm curious...do you think you'll dress Sierra up and go trick or treating in future years once she's older?
Miss you guys!
Love you.
P.S. She's too cute!
