April New York Trip - Day 2

Day 2 of our New York trip was Easter Sunday! What a wonderful time we had celebrating the Risen Lord with family!!! Enjoy the pictures!

Before church, the girls opened up some baskets that Nana had hidden for them...Sierra got some new earrings and Chyler got some play toys. They were SO thrilled with their gifts!

Then we went to church with Brian's Mom, which I have to admit, was a nice idea, but it didn't play out that well. The girls were tired from being up late the night before, they were out of sorts from being in a new place with lots of new faces, and they were being forced to sit still in a church that ministers to an older generation (not many kids in the service like they are used to back home). I am not trying to make excuses for their poor behavior, but I do need to come to terms with the fact that I sometimes expect things from a 5 month old, a 2 year old, and an almost 4 year old that are unrealistic. With that said, church was "ok" for me as I wrestled with entertaining 3 cute girls for an hour. Thankfully, God knows my heart and I praise Him for the cross daily and am thankful for what Easter is all about each day of my life. Sorry, that was just a tangent...

So, back to church, well after church actually. After church was fun because they put on a little egg hunt for the youth and the girls were able to participate. They got many goodies and I even found the "Golden Egg" for Sierra which got her the "Big" prize (a dark chocolate bunny, which was very delicious if I must say!) :)

After church we were able to get a few nice family shots, which I am always thankful to have. Brian hates having his picture taken, so it is not often that we are able to get some shots with Daddy in them!

After some down time at home, we packed up and headed to Brian's brother & girlfriend's house. We had a cookout with super yummy food, the kids had another egg hunt with their cousins, we jumped on the trampoline (a first for our girls and they LOVED it), and then the girls were so blessed with generous Easter gifts & birthday gifts; Mark & Lisa also had cake for Brian and I, because we had just celebrated our 32nd birthday's a few days prior. The love and generosity was so wonderful!

As you can see, day 2 was a total blast. We loved being with family and celebrating the gift of Easter!!!
